When my focus is on programming I want to reinvent every wheel to test the nuances. When my focus is on development I let the programmers reinvent the wheels while I leverage their work to fulfill my goals. It's not that finding better behaviors isn't a worth while thing, but that taking technology out for a Sunday drive is more enjoyable than being hunched over in a seat applying grease.
Applications
An Experiment in Gravity
An application with unique capabilities. Select one of several planets and view the air pressure, density, temperature, and the gravity acceleration for specific altitudes. Define a body and it's acceleration, terminal velocity, and buoyancy will be calculated, tabulated and illustrated as it falls through the atmosphere.
Proof of concept - Online Performance Streaming.
A website developed as a structural demonstration for streaming musical and theatrical performances to online viewers. Real time communication is provided through ajax calls and a MySQL database. Video would be provided through a Darwin server and an object oriented database. Programs, student information, and related galleries would be accessed without interrupting the stream.
